Yes just before the break for Christmas my Trend book turned up this morning big relief!!! Week late and after 3 days after deadline I wrote an e-mail to complain and ask for refund ;I paid £46 for it :(((

Professional Project

Today we were briefed on our PP the outcome is that we have to produce a look book around the word -revolutionary and it must push the boundaries. Something never been done before!!! even thinking about it enough to scare me. Just before the holiday!!! now I ll be thinking about it all the time.

I am going to Rotterdam over Christmas to see my auntie and cosines and Amsterdam here I come...

DEADLINE!!!

I can not believe my Trend book has not arrive yet. Due to weather condition it is stack in Europe somewhere but Sarah been very understanding as I am not the only one:((

It has been a very busy couple of weeks and I send my trendbook to Magcloud little later then others but I choose the experess delivery so hopefully will be here by deadline!!!

I am still in the research process for my Trend Book I have all my topics except Ethical but after having session with Anya I have decide to do Made In Britain which appealed to me `cos I always wondered why everything made in abroad not in Britain?It is all about cost but what we do to Earth? So yes I am certainly focusing about this.
Ethic- Japanese Culture, specifically Geisha's; I don t know what it is maybe about the book I read years ago then the movie but I been fascinated about Geisha's. Reseach about them is been imazine.
Street-I have focus on street lights on that topic, on my research I seen one in Lyme Regis beach and I think I am on my way there very soon.

2.YEAR!!!!

Started the new year already, I have choosen Promotions if you don t know it already, reason for this; careers I am interested as Styling, PR, Visual Mechandising, Fashion Show Organisations, Trend Setter etc, goes on that path way.
We started to term very hectic as we been given Profesional Project- Trend Book for 2012. As we are the futures Trend Setters we should make a look book for trends Ethical, Etnic and Street titles.
I have start thinking already what should I do?

Yes year almost over start thinking about what I am gonna do this summer, I have to pay off my tution fee to uni so I will be working whole summer, but at the same time ofcourse I like to go and see my parents and friends back in Turkey ; AND found the solution!!! I am going to work in Turkey for whole summer and this case I won t pay rent neither love that idea...

Searching already for some jobs in Turkey and I got one I am gonna work as a nanny for 2 kids - 3 year and 1 :))-And familly going to LA-US after a month I join them and I am staying there till September. I `ll put some pictures when I get back :)))

TESCO WORK EXPERIENCE




I been here in Hatfield over 2 weeks now for Tesco work experience in Fashion Buying department with 2 other friend from course Mary an Giang but they are in Design department.Welwyn Garden City is a beautiful city we are staying in B&B close by there,David&Eileen`s B&B lovely, quiet and we sharing the room with Giang to save on accommodation.:))

Tesco is just outside the city which we get shuttle bus from Welwyn Garden City station, it is a huge complex with lots of different company head offices.

First day I meet the girls from the department, Sarah-Fashion Buyer Assistant, Lisa-Trainee Buyer, Fashion Buyer was on maternity leave that reason Sarah was in charge of the department.From the first day the treat me so nice, but job itself was not that interesting at all.


The main reason for me to choose buying department- was my Turkish background and Turkey being huge in textile- thought will be good career choice for me back in Turkey.

Now you might wonder what is gone wrong that I think of this way.

Buyers have all different task everyday; Mondays meeting day- they talk about numbers all day,new lines, best seller, worst seller;what can they do,promotion decisions, all happens very fast. It has no creative skills which is the reason I choose this course to create something, design something.I found very stressful that you deal with suppliers all they either by phone or e-mail. Check posts for some samples from suppliers about quality of garments and give feedback's for each item and details.You are basically in the whole processes for each item anything goes wrong you are responsible so you need to be very carefully but you do not have time for that :)

Department is such a mess `cos all bought samples, supplier samples, production samples, red seal or green seal samples kept in the cupboards well!! almost:))

As I am quite tidy person I could not stand that :)) and I could not not really help them with other tasks as e-mailing or calling supplier or hobs I create a job to myself which they were really happy with that.Especially when I am done :))

But I had a great time here, seeing working environment was good also had a great time in the Fashion show end of the 2.week below some pictures from that; can see what type fun we had :P






I loved that day the most, being in the backstage and the party later on maybe it is what should I do :)

CREATIVE DESING...


We been given a brief before the xmas holiday- my own manifesto-
Also we have to research about sustainable desing,eco fashion,
as a future desinger what we can do to help environment.

It s very exciting but then again it s hard;as we just learning to find our skills, our own style,i am not even sure many of us knows what is MANIFESTO?


That s why we r here...To experiment.
What i decided after a long concidetation:)!!!!

It must be me, what i think, what is my views about life,

that made it much easier, come up with;

And I done my research about eco fashion;as i done that i learnt lots.
I also visited an exhibition in London called Eco Home.

i loved the ideas of recyling items as using rolled papers for this mirror they also used them for vase,photo frame,bowl and old vinyl bookends great ideas!!!!

After all this i started on my board ; FREEDOM remind me chain, cage, feathers so ;

Had so much fun trying to find old rusty chain, :)) I went to Ferndown skip for that then found a very long and heavy chain, needed to cut in pieces:) that was fun too:)))Anyway at the end i got the perfect length i wanted...Used some feathers around the mirror image i think it s right for FREEDOM image...Breaking the chains reaching the freedom ...

As we picked the design i start researching my fabric, looked all the fabric shops in Bournemouth and some in London but do not wanna rush because got Berlin trip coming up and my short Turkey visit ,i am sure i will see some lovely fabric over there:)))

BERLIN TRIP

This was an amazing trip to history;haven t been to Berlin before and to be honest never interest me .When they say Trip to Fashion Capital :)) first city i thought Milan or Paris but had a great time :))Thanks to Berliner :))Its on the table if you wondering what it is :))

I never got a chance get to know 2. years but this trip we got on very well, the girls are lovely:))

I did not know there was that much history going on in Berlin, obviously knew about The Wall but that's about it, i recommended to everyone.

Trip to Letta University was exciting ; students are so talented at the bottom some pic from their design....

As I hoped i found a lovely fabric for my design in Berlin.Very pleased with that.:))

After Berlin, went too Turkey for few days, and bought more fabric !!!do not know what to do with all that fabric:))

FASHION BUYING AND MERCHANDISING

We have a new unit this term FBM; and I like it already, it s what i would like to do when I finished the uni.work as fashion buyer; but I realised it is not a easy job to get in to and hold on to, but i am hoping with my Turkish back round I will get what I want:)))

LECTRA

An other new unit Lectra, Computer pattern cutting and laying and Kalido-Computer design in Fashion.I really enjoy the classes,needs lots of practising I have to say :)))
